Cumberland Women’s Health Centre in Harris Park, NSW is seeking a Community Worker to provide practical support, coordinate services and contribute to programs for women’s safety and wellbeing.

You will develop individual support plans, connect clients with services and collaborate with agencies to improve access to care. This 12-month contract runs 35 hours weekly with opportunities to continue beyond the initial term.

Formación

• Relevant tertiary qualification in community services, social work, social welfare, social science or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting women affected by domestic and family violence, trauma or disadvantage.
• Demonstrated skills in case management, risk and needs assessment, support planning, advocacy and service coordination.
• Understanding of NSW justice system, Safer Pathway and related service frameworks.
• Knowledge of women’s health and local housing, welfare and health services.
• Ability to provide trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive support.
• Commitment to feminist practice, social justice and community empowerment.
• Strong communication, community engagement and recordkeeping skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and case management databases.
• Current driver’s licence, Police Check and Working with Children Check as required.

Responsabilidades

• Assess women’s needs, safety concerns and barriers to housing, healthcare and services.
• Develop, implement and review individual support and safety plans with clients.
• Provide case management, advocacy, practical assistance and referrals with follow-up.
• Coordinate assistance with government agencies and community organisations.
• Plan and deliver community education, wellbeing and support activities.
• Encourage participation in programs and networks to build confidence and independence.
• Maintain confidential client records, case notes and program documentation.
• Monitor progress and support service reviews to improve women’s access to support.
