Women's Community Shelters – Liverpool NSW is seeking a passionate Child and Youth Case Worker for a 12-month fixed-term, part-time role (16 hours per week) to support women and children staying at the crisis accommodation service.

You will work collaboratively with mothers, case workers, schools and health professionals to provide trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate support, improve safety, wellbeing and educational participation.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, or related discipline.
• Experience with trauma, homelessness, domestic and family violence.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Current Working With Children Check and National Police Check and driver’s licence.

Responsabilités

• Build trusting relationships with children and young people in the shelter.
• Undertake strengths-based assessments and contribute to support plans.
• Deliver individual and group activities to promote wellbeing and development.
• Support school engagement, enrolment, attendance and outcomes.
• Facilitate programs focused on emotional wellbeing, life skills and social connection.
• Advocate with schools, health services and community agencies.
• Work with mothers to strengthen family relationships and parenting capacity.
• Assist access to recreational, cultural and community activities.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation.
• Participate in case planning, meetings, supervision and professional development.
• Contribute to a child-safe culture prioritising children’s voices and safety.
