Job summary

Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation delivering Disability and Therapy Services for children, adolescents and adults, across allied health programs and living supports. The role focuses on providing safe, trauma-informed care to young people aged 12–18, working in a residential setting within a multidisciplinary team, and supporting resilience, life skills and positive outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, have residential care

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or ability to obtain.
• Experience in residential care, youth services or Out of Home Care programs.
• Person-centred approach to supporting children and young people.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation, care standards and trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in cross-cultural contexts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including sleepovers and public holidays.

• Provide safe, therapeutic and trauma-informed support to young people aged 12-18.
• Promote their emotional well-being, stability and development.
• Build trusting relationships and support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
