Job summary

OzChild in Victoria is seeking a Restoring Families Practitioner to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. You will provide intensive, child-focused casework to families with complex needs and collaborate with Child Protection and community partners.

Grounded in strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, you will undertake assessments, planning and reviews, respond to referrals, and maintain accurate documentation while supporting family goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Strong understanding of child safety, risk assessment and family case practice.
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (and International Police Check where applicable).
• Current Driver's Licence and access to reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive, child-focused and family-centred casework in accordance with legislative and program requirements.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, young people and families using culturally responsive approaches.
• Complete comprehensive assessments, case planning, interventions and reviews in partnership with families and key stakeholders.
• Respond to referrals within required timeframes, including urgent and high-risk situations.
• Apply evidence-informed approaches including Safe & Together™, MARAM, Motivational Interviewing and relational practice.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality case notes and documentation within required timeframes.
