Job summary

The Benevolent Society in Gosford is seeking a Child & Family Practitioner for the Families Together program. You will deliver strengths-based, home-focused support to families facing complex challenges to keep children safe and thriving.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or related human services field (Diploma or higher).
Experience delivering intensive casework with vulnerable children and families.
Understanding trauma-informed practice, child safety and risk assessment.
Strong communication and engagement skills, including culturally safe practice.
Practical requirements including confidence with case documentation; NSW Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

Provide home based intervention, including regular family visits and direct engagement.
Assess family strengths, needs and risks, and develop clear family-led support plans.
Deliver practical and evidence-informed interventions, including parenting support, advocacy and service coordination.
Maintain accurate documentation and work collaboratively with families, colleagues and partner services.
