Job summary

CatholicCare Wollongong is seeking a Family Strengthening Practitioner to deliver high-quality casework for families facing complex challenges. You will provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive and child-centred support through home visits and direct engagement to strengthen families and improve outcomes for children.

Your role includes building relationships with external stakeholders, advocating for access to supports, providing crisis response and adjusting plans to ensure child safety

Qualifications

• Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or related field.
• Trauma-informed, intensive casework experience with families.
• Experience with child protection risk, domestic/family violence, mental health and complex needs.
• Understanding of child safety, mandatory reporting and family vulnerability.
• Current NSW WWCC and willingness to travel across Macarthur/Wingecarribee.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality casework to families experiencing complex challenges.
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive and child-centred support through home visits and direct engagement.
• Advocate for families to access supports and coordinate with external stakeholders such as DCJ.
• Provide crisis response and adjust case plans to ensure child safety.
