Job summary

Hamilton Island Enterprises is seeking a friendly Transport Driver to join our Transport Team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will safely shuttle guests between the airport, accommodation and island attractions, sharing engaging commentary and delivering outstanding service.

In this role you’ll work on scheduled island shuttles and after-hours transfers, enjoy island lifestyle with accommodation, on-site dining discounts, and a rotating roster including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• MR Licence is essential for the role.
• Industry Authority eligibility required or in progress.
• Clean driving record and road-safety focus.
• Ability to operate in a busy resort environment.

Responsibilities

TRANSPORT DRIVER – Hamilton Island / Transport Team

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and personable Transport Driver to join our Transport team on a full-time, permanent basis. As one of the first friendly faces our guests meet, you'll play an important role in creating memorable first impressions while safely transporting guests around one of Australia's most iconic island destinations. From airport arrivals to resort transfers and island adventures, you'll help guests discover the beauty of Hamilton Island while delivering exceptional customer service.

Your Role

As a Transport Driver, you'll provide safe, reliable and friendly transport services for guests, residents and staff across Hamilton Island. From scheduled shuttle services and airport transfers to after-hours taxi operations, you'll ensure every passenger enjoys a comfortable journey while sharing your knowledge of the island and its attractions.

• Deliver friendly and professional customer service throughout each journey
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues promptly
• Respond to guest enquiries and provide information about island facilities
• Follow transport schedules and operational procedures efficiently
• Maintain compliance with road safety regulations and HIE policies
• Work collaboratively with the Transport team to ensure reliable guest services

To be successful, you will need:

• Minimum QLD Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence (Essential)
• QLD Industry Authority or eligibility to obtain one (Essential)
• Clean driving record and strong commitment to road safety
• Previous bus driving experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service focus and professional presentation
• Ability to operate safely in a busy resort environment
• Confidence providing commentary and engaging with passengers
• Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including evenings and weekends
• Previous tourism, resort or tour guiding experience (Highly regarded)
