Job summary

Lantrak is looking for an organised and confident Allocator to join our Yatala Operations team. Sitting at the centre of our daily operations, you’ll coordinate customer bookings, allocate trucks and contractors across multiple projects and respond to changing requirements throughout the day.

It’s a fast-moving role where priorities can change quickly. You’ll need to be comfortable making decisions, communicating with drivers and customers, and maintaining accurate information in our OMS while

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, scheduling or a similar operational environment.
• Strong communication skills with drivers, contractors and customers.
• Ability to prioritise and make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn new processes and work as part of a busy operations team.

It's a fast-moving role where priorities can change quickly. You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, communicating with drivers and customers, juggling competing requirements and finding solutions when plans change.

About the Role

As an Allocator, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the resources required to keep our daily operations running efficiently.

You’ll manage incoming bookings, allocate suitable contractors and equipment, monitor jobs throughout the day and respond quickly when requirements change or additional resources are needed.

You’ll also maintain accurate information within our OMS and work closely with customers, contractors, sales staff and project teams to ensure everyone has the information they need.

Transport allocation experience will be highly regarded, however we’re also open to experienced schedulers, dispatchers and operations coordinators with strong transferable skills.

Key Responsibilities

Handle a high volume of inbound calls professionally and efficiently

Enter and manage job bookings in OMS (Operations Management System) with accuracy

Communicate clearly with customers, sales staff and project teams

Allocate compliant contractors and equipment to scheduled jobs

Build strong working relationships with contractors and support ongoing recruitment

About you

You’ll be someone who is organised, proactive and able to stay across multiple moving parts at once.

You will ideally have:

Experience in transport, logistics, scheduling, dispatch or a similar operational environment

Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with drivers, contractors and customers

The ability to prioritise and make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment

A calm and practical approach when plans change

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Confidence using systems and learning new processes

Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take ownership

The ability to work effectively as part of a busy Operations team

Experience in road transport, civil construction, heavy vehicles or material management would be advantageous, but isn’t essential for the right person.
