Job summary

Golding Contractors seeks an experienced Training Superintendent to lead the Training Department on the Baralaba North Mine site. You will oversee training, competency, inductions, records and compliance across the site.

Reporting to the SHET Manager, you will develop site training plans, manage LMS and collaborate with external RTOs to maintain workforce capability and continuous improvement in safety and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading training, competency and workforce development in mining/heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mining training and competency requirements.
  • Experience managing LMS and Training Management Systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to develop training strategies and workforce capability programs.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Training Department and oversee all training and competency activities.
  • Develop, implement and maintain site training plans and workforce development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant mining legislation, standards and client requirements.
  • Manage site training systems, records and competency matrices.
  • Coordinate inductions, onboarding programs and refresher training.
  • Support supervisors and managers in identifying competency gaps and training needs.
  • Conduct training audits and verify compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain training packages, procedures and learning materials.
  • Liaise with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting on training compliance, competencies and workforce capability.
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practice training outcomes across site.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Training Superintendent to join our onsite team BaralabaMining Project. Reporting directly to the SHET Manager, this position is responsible for leading and managing all training, competency and workforce development activities across site.

This is a hands‑on leadership role that will work closely with operational leaders to ensure employees and contractors are suitably trained, competent and compliant with legislative, client and company requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing a strong learning culture that supports safe, efficient and productive operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the site Training Department and oversee all training and competency activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience in a Training Superintendent, Training Manager or Senior Training Advisor position within the mining, resources or heavy industry sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mining training and competency requirements.
  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Training Management Systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience developing training strategies and workforce capability programs.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant mining industry experience.
  • Current Queensland Coal Mining Induction (Standard 11) or ability to obtain.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Diploma or tertiary qualifications in Training, Education, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
