Job summary

Service Stream is recruiting for a full-time role based at Cultana Training Area in SA to ensure readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas. The role supports the Department of Defence with live-fire target systems and range operations.

You will coordinate contractor tasks, manage targets, stock and facility readiness, and work within a team dedicated to safety and operational excellence in defense infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience planning, placing, testing and recovering live fire target equipment.
• Ability to operate Defence target systems like DART, MTR and SMR.
• Experience in inventory control, stock management and storage maintenance.
• Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training is highly regarded.
• Experience in ADF or Defence industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractor tasks for the Training Area Range (land care, cleaning, waste, estate upkeep).
• Plan, deploy, test and recover live fire targets with Defence Units.
• Manage TAR gates/flags per firing schedules.
• Build and repair targets using Defence supplies.
• Conduct non-technical inspections and support contractor checks.
• Maintain TAR readiness (weed control, facility upkeep).
• Operate DART, MTR, SMR and new target systems.
• Manage inventory, stock control and storage.

About the role

You will ensure the readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas.

Your key responsibilities

• Coordinating contractor tasks for the Training Area Range (e.g. land care, cleaning, waste, estate upkeep).
• Planning, deploying, testing and recovering live fire targets with Defence Units.
• Managing TAR gates/flags per approved firing schedules.
• Building and repairing targets using Defence supplies.

• Managing inventory, stock control & storage.

About you

• Experience in planning, placing, testing and recovering range live fire target equipment would be highly desirable.
• Ability to operate and maintain various target systems such as DART, MTR, and SMR.
• Experience in inventory control, stock management, and storage maintenance.
• Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training would be highly regarded.
• Previous experience in the ADF or Defence industry would be highly regarded.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
