Job summary

Service Stream is seeking Grounds Maintenance Operators for the PAS contract at Robertson Barracks, NT. These permanent full-time roles support construction, agricultural and infrastructure projects with land management duties available.

You will operate mowing and landscaping equipment, perform general labour, and assist tradespeople while maintaining safety and OH&S standards on site. Australian Defence Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating landscaping equipment safely.
• Ability to lift, dig and work outdoors in all weather.
• Licence, White Card and First Aid are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clear land for construction, agriculture, or infrastructure projects.
• Operate plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
• Load, transport and handle materials and equipment.
• Perform manual labour including digging, lifting, and trenching.
• Support tradespeople and crews with general site tasks.
• Conduct equipment checks and report faults or hazards.
• Identify utility lines and manage soil conditions.
• Set up and clean work areas to maintain site safety.
• Participate in toolbox talks and contribute to a safe work culture.

We are hiring multiple Grounds Maintenance Operators to support this contract. These are permanent full-time positions based at Robertson Barracks.

About the role

You will be responsible for performing a wide range of manual and machinery-assisted tasks in physically demanding outdoor environments. This role supports the efficient and safe execution of construction, agricultural, and infrastructure projects by operating plant equipment, performing general labouring duties, and assisting tradespeople and site teams. We also have positions available that are focused on land management duties such as weeding, spraying and mowing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and clearing land for construction, agriculture, or infrastructure projects.
• Operating plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
• Loading, transporting, and handling materials and equipment.
• Performing manual labour including digging, lifting, and trenching.
• Supporting tradespeople and crews with general site tasks.
• Conducting equipment checks and report faults or hazards.
• Identifying utility lines and manage soil conditions.
• Setting up and cleaning work areas to maintain site safety.
• Participating in toolbox talks and contribute to a safe work culture.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to safely operate mowers, blowers, compactors, and other landscaping equipment.
• Capable of lifting, digging, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Assisting with fencing, paving, retaining walls, and irrigation systems.
• Familiarity with OH&S procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively on-site.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Relevant licences, white card and first aid requirements are highly regarded.
