Job summary

NSW Health through SESLHD invites applications for a Fixed Term – Full Time Registrar (Trainee - Stage 2-4) in the Prince of Wales Hospital Emergency Department. The six-month Advanced Skills SSP provides 0.5 FTE ultrasound training and 0.5 FTE clinical Emergency Medicine, with a focus on PoCUS and ultrasound-guided procedures.

Remuneration ranges from $117,745 to $147,664 AUD per annum plus superannuation, leave loading and penalties.

About our Role

The Prince of Wales Emergency Department offers an ACEM-accredited six-month Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Special Skills Placement (SSP) for Stage 2–4 trainees. The position is full-time, comprising 0.5 FTE protected ultrasound training and 0.5 FTE clinical Emergency Medicine, providing trainees with the opportunity to develop expertise in both the technical and clinical application of point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS). The placement also offers experience in ultrasound-guided procedures while encouraging participation in education, quality improvement, and research within a supportive, multidisciplinary teaching environment.

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Servicesis a major teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre based on the Randwick Hospitals Campus. We provide excellent healthcare to SESLHD and specialist health and medical services to NSW. We connect with various universities including the University of New South Wales. We have 450 inpatient beds and almost 3,000 staff. Each year we care for more than 64,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 50,000 patients are admitted to our Hospital. We also have a busy outpatient service and rural outreach service and provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year.
