Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) invites applications for a Permanent Full Time Physiotherapist Level 1 or 2 at St George Hospital. You will plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality physiotherapy care to patients in a tertiary hospital setting, aligned with SESLHD policies and standards.

Working across cardiorespiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal domains, you will contribute to multidisciplinary teams, apply evidence-based practice and support ongoing professional

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in accordance with NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, Neurological and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills, to engage patients/clients and work with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement using evidence-based practice.

The Role

Plan, coordinate and deliver high quality Physiotherapy care to patients/clients of St George Hospital consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Where you’ll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
  • Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Physiotherapy Board of Australia; and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, Neurological and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills, to both engage patients/clients and work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in the provision of clinical care using evidence based practice, commensurate with years of experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use and application of professional and clinical digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated participation or leadership in quality improvement processes and teaching, commensurate with years of experience.
  • Ability to respond to the demands and pressures of the role while managing time effectively.
  • Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
