Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District’s Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick is seeking an Accredited Medical Sonographer to provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound imaging for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist.

Qualifications

  • Hold Accredited Medical Sonographer (AMS) registration with ASAR and appropriate post graduate ultrasound qualification.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
  • Prior experience in paediatric/neonatal ultrasound is preferred (or willingness to learn).
  • Willingness to upskill and learn new imaging techniques and participate in monthly case reviews and departmental quality assurance programs.
  • Participate in on call roster and willingness to perform mobile examinations and ultrasound guidance in operating theatres.
  • Demonstrate willingness to train and teach trainee sonographers and junior medical staff.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and undertaking all tasks in a timely manner.

The role of the sonographer is to provide high quality sonographic images for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist whilst offering the utmost care and compassion to women and babies.

Selection Criteria:
