Job summary

Yass Valley Council in NSW is seeking a Trainee ICT Support Assistant to provide frontline level 1 IT support for staff, assist with device deployment and asset maintenance, and help keep systems running smoothly.

You will learn under supervision, work with an experienced ICT team, gain hands-on experience with hardware, software, and remote support, and contribute to a positive customer service experience while studying for a nationally recognised qualification.

Qualifications

Experience in a customer-facing role providing customer service.
Ability to provide level 1 ICT support including password resets and troubleshooting basic software or connectivity issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with both technical and non-technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to work methodically and troubleshoot problems.

Responsibilities

Provide level 1 ICT support (password resets and basic troubleshooting) and manage the internal helpdesk queue.
Assist with training, hardware and software installation and maintenance requirements.
Liaise with Council Officers over phone or remote connection.
Keep Council officers informed of request progress to resolution or escalation.
Perform basic hardware and software upgrades and maintenance.
Assist with deployment, relocation, installation and configuration of desktop and mobile devices under supervision.
Manage stock levels of consumables, spares, and replacement equipment; assist with Asset Management.
