Job summary

Shellharbour City Council offers a Traineeship (Cadet, Apprentice and Trainee Program) in Events aimed at school leavers and mature-age applicants. It combines practical work with structured study, supported by Council and TAFE, leading to a Certificate III in Events.

You will join a team delivering community activation, events, arts and cultural initiatives across Shellharbour. The program provides on‑the‑job mentoring, paid study time, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Open to school leavers and mature-age applicants who are eligible for admission to the Certificate III in Events.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification.
• Assist with event planning, coordination and delivery across Shellharbour Civic Centre and wider Shellharbour region.
• Develop skills in stakeholder engagement and community activation.
