Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council invites applicants for a two-year Trainee Event Management role in Bankstown NSW. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full event lifecycle, working with experienced Producers and internal teams to learn planning, stakeholder engagement, procurement, logistics, risk and post-event evaluation.

You’ll combine structured learning with on‑the‑job training and will complete a TAFE course alongside your work with Council, commencing February 2027.

Qualifications

• Be a current Year 12 student, recent school leaver, or early career professional.
• A current Class C drivers’ license and own reliable transport.
• A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of CBCity’s major events and activations.
• Work alongside Event Producers to assist with event plans, schedules, budgets and logistics.
• Coordinate with Council teams, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Gain hands-on experience in event set-up, delivery and pack-down.
• Assist with procurement, event communications, risk, WHS and accessibility requirements.
• Build practical event management skills through on-the-job training and mentoring.
