Job summary

Goodstart Young in Young, NSW invites applications for a Trainee Educator. This fixed term full-time traineeship (38 hours per week) supports you to study toward a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care while gaining hands-on experience in our nursery room.

Job description

Role: Trainee Educator

Location: Young, NSW

Centre: Goodstart Young

Employment Type: Fixed Term Full-Time (38 hours per week)

Pay: Up to $31.36 per hour (depending on age)

• Receive Fee-Free Training – Goodstart will cover all related RTO enrolment and training fees

You Will Achieve This By

• Maintaining a safe environment for children, families, and team members
• Complying with National Quality Standards (NQS) and Goodstart Policies, Procedures and Requirements
• Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children and families
• Actively contributing to the education program in the room and the centre team
• Supporting a culture of reflective practice and ongoing continuous improvement
• Contributing to a professional and positive work culture

To be eligible for a Traineeship, you are not able to hold a previous Certificate or Diploma qualification completed outside of secondary school in the last 7 years. Applicants who have completed a school-based certificate other than in childcare will still be eligible.

In Addition, You Must Have

• The willingness and motivation to study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
• A permanent right to work in Australia
• Strong communication skills
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Flexible availability
• Interest in early years education
• Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
• Proof of immunisation against Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Whooping Cough (Pertussis)(or be willing to receive)
