Job summary

Ternary is hiring for a Community Support Worker in the Newcastle–Maitland region. No experience is required; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided as you complete Certificate III in Individual Support.

Shifts are part-time with flexible days between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday. You will visit clients at home, assist with daily tasks, and progress to personal care and more advanced services as you gain experience.

Qualifications

No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Must be eligible for State Funding (Australian/NZ PR or citizen).
Must be able to pass National Police Check and WVPC.

Responsibilities

Provide domestic assistance and support in clients' homes.
Assist with shopping trips and meal preparation.
Deliver personal care and basic well-being tasks.
Support transportation to appointments and activities.
Encourage social activities and respite options as needed.

Our client, a well-established home and community care organisation, is seeking new team members to join their local team in the region.

No experience is required; we will train you in Certificate III in Individual Support, and you will be paid to attend buddy shifts, regular shifts, and training days.

On-the-job training provided.

We are expanding this team to deal with the increase in new clients requiring services, with the expansion of community services.

When you start your career as a Community Support Worker, you can complete socialisation and domestic tasks. As you progress, you will receive training in additional services, such as personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting), respite, catheter care, and much more!

What we are seeking:

Ability to pass and receive a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card (WVPC)
Have a current NSW driver's licence
Have a reliable, registered vehicle, with full comprehensive insurance; and

Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or a Permanent resident, allowing access to State Funding for the program.
Hold a current First Aid & CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain.

Shifts are available Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, and can suit parents-friendly availability as well.
