Job summary

Susquehanna International Group, LLP is seeking a hands-on Linux/Unix engineer to build, monitor, and support a highly automated trading desk. You will develop tooling to ensure stability and performance across a distributed environment and contribute to Linux-based build and deployment tooling.

Qualifications

• Must hold full working rights to work in Australia.
• Hands-on Linux/Unix experience (essential).
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience supporting production or mission-critical systems in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working with traders, quants, and engineers.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues under pressure.
• Finance/trading environment experience is a plus; not required.
• Understanding of financial instruments and markets is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python and Bash scripts to monitor health, performance, and dependencies of a mission-critical production environment.
• Monitor and support a highly distributed Linux-based trading system.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering on server imaging, testing, deployment, and system configuration.
• Serve as a liaison between the trading desk and network, security, market data, and platform teams on production issues.
• Provide multi-level production support for traders, quants, and researchers.
• Help improve system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the trading stack.
