Job summary

Jump Trading Group in Sydney is seeking a Production Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer to own and optimize the production trading environment. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance systems and connectivity across global trading operations, while collaborating with traders, risk, and operations teams to minimize risk and improve performance.

The role requires 5+ years in IT ops, strong Python and shell scripting, and deep Linux/networking knowledge.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years IT operations experience (DevOps/SRE/Linux/Network Eng).
3+ years Python and shell scripting experience.
C++ familiarity is helpful.
Detail-oriented with strong operational discipline.
Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
Ownership mindset and urgency in incident handling.
Comfort with on-call duties and shared rotations.

Responsibilities

Own the production environment, driving reliability and operability.
Proactively monitor and troubleshoot large-scale trading systems and connectivity.
Build and maintain DevOps toolkit for the production trading system.
Leverage metrics to improve scalability and performance.
Collaborate across technology to resolve complex system problems.
Coordinate changes with Risk Management and Operational Trading Support.
Interact with traders to drive technology changes and resolve issues.
Work with Clearing to reconcile trades and position breaks.
Define and document processes and procedures.
Provide mentorship to other technical operations SREs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
