Job summary

Jump Trading Group is seeking a Production Infrastructure Engineer to own and optimize the production environment for reliability and performance. The role requires deep DevOps/SRE experience, strong Python and shell scripting, and solid Linux/networking fundamentals.

You will collaborate with traders, risk, and operations to minimize incidents and drive improvements. Responsibilities include building devops tooling, proactive monitoring, incident response, and mentoring other SREs.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years in IT operations (DevOps, SRE, Linux, or Networking).
3+ years Python and shell scripting.
Strong Linux knowledge and networking fundamentals.
Willingness for on-call duties and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

Own the production environment ensuring performance, reliability, and operability.
Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale trading systems and exchange connectivity.
Build and maintain devops toolkit for deployment, config, monitoring, and data analysis.
Use metrics to improve scalability and performance.
Collaborate across technology to troubleshoot complex system issues.
Coordinate changes with Risk Management and Operational Trading Support.
Directly interact with traders to drive tech changes and resolve incidents.
Work with Clearing to reconcile trades and position breaks.
Assess and manage operational risk of production changes.
Define and document processes and procedures.
Mentor other technical operations SREs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
