Job summary

Responsibilities

• Receive and organise stock.
• Complete basic job documentation and data entry.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop.

Southcott is seeking a reliable, mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our Emerald workshop. No hose or hydraulics experience is required—we’ll provide the training you need.

About the role

You’ll support our workshop team with the manufacture and preparation of hydraulic hose assemblies, customer orders and general workshop activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly and wants to develop a career in the hydraulics industry.

What you’ll do

• Learn to manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies

What we’re looking for

• You don’t need hose or hydraulics experience. We’re looking for someone with:
• A practical, hands-on approach
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence using basic hand tools
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Basic maths and computer skills
• Clear communication and a helpful attitude
• A commitment to working safely
• Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse, manufacturing, mechanical or trade environment would be helpful but is not essential.
• A forklift or MR truck licence would also be an advantage but is not required.
