Randstad's client in Derrimut is seeking a reliable Trade Assistant to support the mechanical engineering team in a pristine, state‑of‑the‑art production facility. You will assist with assembly, handle heavy‑duty pumps and engine packages, and keep a clean, well‑organised workspace.

This permanent, full‑time day‑shift role offers a highly structured schedule with no overtime and a supportive team within a premium manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Trade Assistant or mechanical labourer in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrated pride in a tidy, well‑organised workspace.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified fitters with assembly and mounting of pumps and engine packages.
• Prepare and layout structural skids, pipework networks, hoses and sensors.
• Manage tools, parts and materials to keep the line moving smoothly.
• Maintain an exceptionally clean, safe workshop in line with safety standards.

The Opportunity: Clean Working Conditions & True Team Support

Forget chaotic construction sites or dirty wrecking yards. This position is based entirely inside a massive, exceptionally neat, tidy, and organised warehouse. Because this equipment is built strictly to high‑level mining regulations, cleanliness and order are central to everything they do.

You will be working directly alongside qualified Tradespeople, handling the critical foundational tasks that keep the assembly lines moving smoothly.

What You Will Do:

Operating on a secure, permanent full‑time day shift (Monday to Friday), your responsibilities will include:

• Fitter Support: Assist qualified Mechanical Fitters with the assembly, positioning, and mounting of heavy‑duty industrial pumps and diesel/electric engine packages.
• Component Handling: Support the preparation and layout of structural skids, specialised pipework networks, hydraulic hoses, and system sensors.
• Workshop Logistics: Manage the flow of tools, parts, and materials to ensure the assembly floor operates at maximum efficiency.
• Pristine Housekeeping: Maintain an exceptionally clean, organised, and safe workshop floor, ensuring all workspace layouts adhere to strict safety standards.
