Job summary

Southcott in Brisbane is seeking a Trades Assistant to join our branch. You’ll support the manufacture and preparation of hydraulic hose assemblies, assist with stock movements and general workshop activities.

No prior hydraulics experience required; if you’re practical and eager to learn, we’ll provide on-the-job training and a clear path to develop your skills within a long-established Australian business.

Southcott is looking for a reliable, mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our Brisbane Branch.

You don’t need previous hose or hydraulics experience. If you’re practical, comfortable using basic hand tools and keen to learn, we’ll provide the training you need to develop your skills.

About the role

You’ll work as part of our branch team, supporting the manufacture and preparation of hydraulic hose assemblies, customer orders, stock movements and general workshop activities.

It’s a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys working with tools, takes pride in doing things properly and wants the opportunity to build a career in the hydraulics industry.

What you’ll do

Learn to manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies

Measure, cut and prepare hoses and components

Operate workshop equipment following training

Complete basic job documentation and data entry

What we’re looking for

Hydraulics experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for someone who brings:

Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse, manufacturing, mechanical or trade environment would be an advantage.
