Job summary

SA Water is seeking a Trade Waste Compliance Officer to oversee the safe acceptance of trade waste and ensure alignment with environmental and business objectives. The role covers approvals, monitoring, auditing and advisory support across the state.

You will assess drainage and waste treatment proposals, conduct wastewater sampling and data interpretation, and build strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualification in an environmental science, chemistry, plumbing and drainage or similar technical field.
• Experience with trade waste regulations and approvals.
• Knowledge of wastewater sampling, testing and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Manage trade waste approvals and authorisations.
• Monitor and audit customer compliance with trade waste requirements.
• Investigate and resolve non-compliant trade waste discharges.
• Provide expert advice and customer support on trade waste matters.
• Assess drainage layouts and trade waste treatment proposals.
• Conduct wastewater sampling and interpret testing data.
• Investigate environmental incidents and support compliance activities.
• Build strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
