Job summary

Fletcher Building Limited is seeking a friendly, organized Trade Counter Assistant for the Wanaka branch. You will help customers, manage stock, and support deliveries while contributing to a positive team environment.

Experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred, and a plumbing background is beneficial but not required if you are eager to learn. The role includes manual handling and requires a full NZ driver license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in customer service or retail sales.
• Plumbing background is ideal but not essential if you're keen to learn.
• Physical fitness required for manual handling and heavy lifting.
• Hold a full clean NZ driver license.
• Strong interpersonal skills and rapport-building with customers.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently under pressure.
• Comfortable with computers and learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the Trade Counter and assist with stock counts and shelf replenishment.
• Support inventory management and inwards goods.
• Ensure products are organized and ready for delivery and assist with customer deliveries.
• Greet customers with a cheerful, helpful attitude and provide exceptional service.
