Best Doors in Cairns and Far North Queensland is seeking a reliable Trade Assistant to support our installation and service technicians across Cairns. This hands‑on role involves loading materials, assisting with installations, and ensuring quality workmanship at client sites.

The successful candidate will have a C Class licence, forklift LF, and a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude. Full training, a stable role, and a 4‑day week option are available.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Driver Licence.
• Forklift licence (LF) and experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to use power tools with quality workmanship.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job.
• Physical ability to perform the required installation work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with garage door and opener installations.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from site.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks under supervision.
• Put together panel doors onsite to support technicians installing onsite.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organised worksite.
• Strong commitment to workplace health & safety requirements and quality workmanship.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Support the team in delivering high‑quality workmanship and customer service.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to support our Garage Door Installation and Service Technicians across Cairns and Far North Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, working outdoors, and developing practical skills within a growing industry.

You will gain comprehensive knowledge of our installation and repair services, as well as insights into our operations. Our responsibilities encompass the installation and servicing of garage roller doors, garage panel doors, industrial roller shutters, automatic door openers, gate openers, and various other specialized products, all conducted at client sites.

What will you do

• Assist technicians with garage door and opener installations
