Job summary

Southern Cross Tractors, part of the Southern Cross Industrial Group, is seeking multiple full-time heavy vehicle mobile equipment and diesel fitter/tractor mechanics for Mackay and surrounding areas. You’ll service and maintain New Holland tractors and allied equipment, ensuring high-quality work with safe practices while coordinating parts and documentation.

The role offers full-time hours, some overtime, uniforms, PPE, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to interpret parts catalogues/workshop manuals.
• Prior experience in a similar role with field experience and customer interaction.
• Tractor experience is highly regarded.
• Safe work ethic and a proactive problem-solving approach.
• Willingness to improve and share knowledge; able to work unsupervised.
• Must have a valid Driver's Licence and forklift ticket.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintenance of New Holland tractors and other machinery.
• Undertake scheduled maintenance and repairs and maintain records.
• Source and order spare parts; ensure safe, high-quality work.
• Maintain productive interactions with staff and customers.

From our two convenient locations in Mackay and Proserpine, we can also supply Construction Equipment, Hay Making Equipment, Farm Machinery, Lawn Care, as well asUsed Tractors and other Machinery.

We are seekingmultiple full-time trade qualified Heavy vehicle mobile equipment/Diesel Fitter / Tractor Mechanicsfor an immediate start onservicing and maintenance of a variety of Tractors including New Holland tractors and our expanded machinery range in Mackay and up to Proserpine and surrounds.

Your strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and positive attitude will contribute to our continued success.

The position will include (but not limited to) the following:

• Undertake appropriate measures to ensure all service and maintenance records are maintained
• Undertake scheduled maintenance and repairs of our Customers New Holland Tractors and all our other tractors and ancillary equipment
• Ensure all work carried out is undertaken to the highest quality standard and carried out safely
• Servicing and maintenance as per applicable schedules
• Work with departmental and interdepartmental staff in a pleasant and constructive manner
• Source and order spare parts and maintain appropriate records as required to ensure smooth work flow of scheduled servicing and maintenance

The candidate must possess the following:
