Job summary

Ballarat Tractors is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain a range of construction machinery in our Ballarat facility and in the field.

You will work with diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting. A valid driver’s license and strong problem-solving skills are essential for delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Diesel Technician in construction machinery.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electricals, hydraulics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults.
• Certifications in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication and customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and service a variety of construction machinery in our workshop and in the field.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify issues and ensure proper functioning of machinery.
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient operations and timely repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues and solutions to clients when needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for heavy machinery, with the technical expertise to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Relevant certifications or training in diesel mechanics or agricultural technology is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• A valid driver’s license
