Job summary

The Brown and Hurley Group in Mackay is seeking a dedicated Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to diagnose faults and perform maintenance, service, repair and rebuild work on Kenworth and DAF trucks. You will check workmanship against manufacturer standards and support apprentice training while delivering professional customer service.

We welcome second to fourth year apprentices and qualified mechanics, with opportunities for ongoing training at one of Australia’s leading heavy vehicle dealerships.

Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle mechanic qualification or any other mechanic qualification.
• Works safely, team player, excellent communicator and problem-solver.
• HR and forklift licence (desirable).
• Kenworth or DAF experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults on trucks.
• Carry out service, maintenance, repair and rebuild work.
• Check own work to manufacturers’ requirements.
• Help train apprentices and assist workshop personnel.
• Complete job cards correctly.
• Participate in on-call roster and attend offsite breakdowns.
• Provide exceptional and professional customer service.

The Brown and Hurley Group are growing fast and want you to be part of our team in Mackay. You will undertake diagnostics, maintenance, services, repairs, rebuilds and breakdowns on a range of Kenworth and DAF trucks.

What you’ll be doing:

• Diagnose faults

• Check own work to ensure it is carried out to the manufacturers’ requirements
• Help train apprentices and assist other workshop personnel
• Complete job cards correctly
• Participate in the on-call roster and attend offsite breakdowns
• Provide exceptional and professional customer service

About you:

• Heavy vehicle mechanic qualification or any other mechanic qualification
