Job summary

STM Trucks & Machinery, a family-owned business with 4 NSW locations, seeks a Trade-qualified Field Service Technician/Plant Mechanic for our Smeaton Grange branch. You will diagnose faults, service and repair customer sites across Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema and New Holland equipment.

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will maintain vehicles, complete paperwork and uphold WHS practices while delivering on-site support. Full-time, Mon–Fri with ongoing training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
• Previous field service experience.
• Experience with Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema or New Holland equipment.
• Strong hydraulics and/or auto-electrical fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs on customer sites in a time-sensitive, on-the-road environment.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on plant equipment.
• Maintaining the company service vehicle in a clean, safe and well-organised condition.
• Communicating clearly with customers and the workshop team regarding job status and required parts.
• Maintaining accurate service records, reports and documentation for all work performed.
• Following established workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trade-qualifiedField Service Technician / Plant Mechanicto join our team at our Smeaton Grange branch, servicing customer equipment on-site across our plant equipment brands.

About the Role

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs on customer sites across our plant equipment range, including Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema and New Holland machines. Your responsibilities will include:

Working Hours

Full time, Monday to Friday.

Key Requirements

• Trade qualification (Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent)
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical
• Previous field service experience
• Experience with any of Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema or New Holland equipment
• Strong hydraulics and/or auto‑electrical fault‑finding skills
