Job summary

Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a Town Planner to join the Development team in Mudgee, NSW. You will assess Development Applications and provide professional land-use planning advice to Council, applicants and the broader community.

You’ll contribute to strategic planning, guide growth in the region and enjoy flexible hours, generous leave, and an active, supportive team in a thriving regional setting.

Qualifications

• Tertiary planning qualification or tertiary qualification in an affiliated field to planning.
• Class C Drivers Licence.
• Ability to build and maintain working relationships within Council and with the community.
• Demonstrated ability to provide specialist advice on planning matters.
• Demonstrated time management skills to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Moderate strategic perspective to research, review, draft, develop and implement strategic studies, LEPs, DCPs, policies and codes.
• Moderate skills to assess Development Applications.
• Motivation for ongoing professional development to keep skills up to date.
• Knowledge of WHS responsibilities and commitment to WHS training.
