Job summary

Mid-Western Regional Council in Mudgee, NSW, is seeking an enthusiastic Events Officer to plan, coordinate and promote major regional events. This full-time, on-site role sits in our Economic Development team and offers a 12-month parental leave contract commencing December 2026 with a 19-day month.

You will work with local businesses and community groups to deliver sporting events, festivals and celebrations, manage campaigns, calendars and content, and support initiatives that grow visitor

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations or Tourism.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in event planning, execution and operations.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• Highly developed communication, administration and digital skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver Council's major events and community celebrations.
• Develop marketing campaigns to promote Council-run and supported events.
• Work with event organisers, businesses and community stakeholders to ensure success.
• Manage the region's annual events calendar and online event content.
• Evaluate events and identify opportunities for improvement.
