Burwood Council seeks a Town Centre Liaison Officer to build strong connections with local businesses, listen to their ideas, and turn conversations into action. You will help activate town centres with events and partnerships, turning feedback into practical initiatives that boost visitation and confidence.

The role requires qualifications in economic development, urban planning or related fields, plus proven experience in place-based initiatives and business engagement.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in economic development, urban planning, marketing, place management or business.
• Proven experience delivering place-based initiatives or economic development activities.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with businesses and stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate projects, manage priorities and deliver on time.
• Customer-focused, collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Connect with local businesses as a visible Council contact and build relationships.
• Listen to ideas and challenges and connect them with Council services.
• Activate town centres through events, partnerships and place-making.
• Turn feedback and data into practical initiatives to improve amenity and visitation.
• Deliver outcomes by working across Council and with external partners.
