Job summary

CHEP Australia is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager, Timber AMETA, based in Sydney. You will lead the regional timber sourcing strategy across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, embedding the Blue Forest approach and driving cost, risk and sustainability across markets.

You will coach two procurement professionals, build supplier partnerships, negotiate contracts, and balance immediate commercial delivery with long-term supply resilience while supporting CHEP's

Qualifications

• Strong direct procurement experience within manufacturing or technical product environments.
• Experience sourcing timber, forestry, building or construction materials would be highly regarded.
• Strong commercial capability across supplier negotiations, contracts, cost modelling and supplier development.
• Ability to balance immediate commercial delivery with longer-term strategic thinking and supply risk.
• Strong relationship and influencing skills with suppliers, operational teams and senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on and curious mindset with understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional timber sourcing strategy across AMETA.
• Translate global Blue Forest strategy into practical regional solutions.
• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships, including negotiations and contracts.
• Build understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers to identify cost-improvement opportunities.
• Balance today’s priorities with longer-term supply planning across Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Sustainability.
• Lead and develop two procurement team members across Australia and South Africa.
• Support sustainability goals through the supply network, including forest restoration and conservation.
