Job summary

SGCH Group is seeking a Tenancy Manager to lead tenancy operations across NSW. You will be the primary contact for tenants, ensuring timely resolution of issues and connecting residents to supportive services. The role emphasizes compassionate service delivery and community wellbeing.

This contract position runs to 28 November 2026, based at St Leonards with travel to SGCH sites as required. A strong background in tenancy management and NSW tenancy knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tenancy management or related social housing sector.
  • Knowledge of NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to SGCH sites.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for tenants and manage issue resolution.
  • Proactively manage rent arrears and tenant debt.
  • Prepare cases for NCAT hearings.
  • Link tenants to support services and coordinate community activities.
  • Conduct home visits to monitor tenancy conditions and coordinate with partners.

Job Description
About the role and about you

As a Tenancy Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for our tenants, ensuring their needs are met with care, respect, and efficiency. You’ll play a critical role in supporting sustainable tenancies by managing day-to-day tenancy matters while connecting tenants to services that improve their wellbeing. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine strong property/tenancy management skills with a genuine passion for helping people.

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Tenancy Manager, passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating positive outcomes for tenants and communities

This is a contract role to 28 November 2026, based at our St Leonards offices with travel other SGCH offices as required.

Duties
  • Act as the main point of contact for tenants and keep them informed throughout issue resolution
  • Proactively manage rent arrears and tenant debt to meet KPIs and maintain financial sustainability
  • Prepare and manage cases for NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) hearings
  • Support tenant wellbeing by linking tenants to relevant support services, and participate in support coordination and community/placemaking activities
  • Conduct regular home visits to monitor property condition, tenancy issues, and anti-social behaviour, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve complex tenancy issues
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Working knowledge of NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010.
  • A current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness and ability to travel regularly to SGCH region sites and offices.
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable individuals in a property management or challenging social, community, or welfare service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, organisational and time management, prioritising and planning, communication and negotiation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively, serving customers of diverse backgrounds and vulnerability.
  • Ability to work with a business acumen and a social heart with self-motivation, compassion and resilience to manage competing priorities, deadlines and multiple stakeholders, to continuously improve, and deliver the best outcomes for the business and customers.
