Job summary

Northern Rivers Housing (NRH) is seeking a dedicated Tenancy Manager to join our Tweed Heads team. You will manage a portfolio of properties, establish and end tenancies, conduct tenant visits and inspections, and oversee rent and arrears in line with NRH policies.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality social and affordable housing services, supporting vulnerable tenants, and collaborating with a responsive team. This is a full-time permanent position based at the Tweed Heads NRH Office.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use IT systems to record and manage information.
  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Willingness to travel between sites and attend meetings and training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tenancy management services and maintain high tenant satisfaction.
  • Manage rent and arrears and conduct subsidy reviews.
  • Establish and end tenancies, conduct tenant visits and property inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with NRH policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support vulnerable people.

About the Role:

As part of a dedicated and community-focused team, the Tenancy Manager delivers best-practice social and affordable housing services, ensuring high levels of tenant satisfaction aligned with NRH values.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this role manages a portfolio of properties and is responsible for establishing and ending tenancies, conducting tenant visits and property inspections, managing rent and non-rent arrears, completing subsidy reviews and complying with policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting vulnerable people, able to set clear professional expectations and enjoy contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team that values strong communications and shared success.

This is a full‑time permanent position and will be based at the Tweed Heads NRH Office.

About You:

  • Experience in providing client-focused tenancy management services or equivalent strong customer service experience

  • High Degree of drive, initiative, motivation and outcome orientation, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities

  • Approachable and confident in liaising with various stakeholders including vulnerable people.

  • Ability to compose professional correspondence via email to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential qualification and requirements

  • Ability to confidently use IT systems to record and manage information

  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain

  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence

  • Willingness to travel between sites and attend meetings and training as required

Other desirable skills and experience

  • Completed a Certificate IV (Social Housing) or current Real Estate certificate of registration, or desire to work towards obtaining this

  • Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act 2010, its application and up‑to‑date with current laws and regulations affecting tenancy management - or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
