We're seeking an experienced Temporary Works Lead to join the delivery team and play a key role in bringing a landmark Sydney project to life.

**Please note this is a full-time site-based role in Sydney, NSW

Key aspects of this role include:

Assessing project work scopes and identifying/classifying temporary works requirements across trades and packages

Coordinating the temporary works design process end-to-end — from concept and scope through to detailed design, independent check, and approval sign-off — for elements such as formwork and falsework, scaffolding, crane foundations and hardstands, precast & steel erection, propping, etc

Acting as the key liaison between the technical design team and site-based construction delivery teams, translating design intent into buildable, sequenced temporary works solutions

Managing RFIs and design review responses relating to temporary works

Undertaking regular site inspections and audits to validate that temporary works are installed, loaded, used, and dismantled in accordance with approved designs

Managing the temporary works register and permitting systems, including identification and sign-off of hold points

Overseeing change management for temporary works — assessing design variations arising from site conditions or sequencing changes, and ensuring they are captured, reviewed, and re-approved before implementation

Reviewing and developing risk-based work method statements (WMS) and supporting the preparation of Work Pack and scope of works documentation

Ensuring compliance with Code of Practice for Temporary Works, the applicable Temporary Structures Standards, alongside relevant Australian Standards and WHS legislation

Providing guidance and coaching to site teams on temporary works procedures, roles, and best practice

Reporting on temporary works status, risks, and close-out actions to project leadership

About You

We are looking for an experienced Temporary Works Engineering Coordinator/Lead — a team player with the following experience and capabilities:

Prior experience, ideally gained on projects greater than $100M in value

Prior experience working with a tier 1 contractor, facilitating temporary works designs and undertaking site inspections to validate the works, including managing change

Demonstrated ability to work effectively across both technical design teams and construction delivery teams, translating between the two to keep works moving safely and on program

Sound working knowledge of temporary works principles, approval frameworks, and standards

Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent construction-related discipline)

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, hands‑on approach

Located in Sydney (site-based role)
