Job summary

FCC Construction Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to lead the Green Star strategy for a landmark Sydney project. You will work with design and project leadership to embed sustainable outcomes from day one.

Initially site-based, transitioning to full-time on site during construction, you will own sustainability delivery, coordinate consultants, and drive initiatives across the design and delivery teams.

• Transition to a full-time, site-based role during construction to ensure delivery

We’re seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to join the delivery team and play a key role in bringing a landmark Sydney project to life.

Please note this is a full-time site-based role in Sydney, NSW.

About the role:

As Sustainability Manager, you'll work closely with the design team, project leadership to lead sustainability outcomes and the Green Star strategy for our Sydney-based project.

Key aspects of the role:

• Embedded with the design team from day one, shaping the sustainability outcomes that get built rather than reviewing them after the fact
• Sitting with the design team to review design packages, and compiling the Sustainability Design Report
• Running and growing the Sustainability Initiatives Register, finding opportunities, not just tracking them
• Owning the project's sustainability and Green Star Buildings strategy, and leading its delivery
• Acting as the primary point of contact on all sustainability matters
• Coordinating specialist consultant input so their work lands in the actual design
• Transitioning to a full-time, site-based role once construction begins, to ensure sustainability commitments are carried through into delivery

About you

We are looking for someone with the following experience and capabilities:

• Green Star Accredited Professional
• Minimum 10 years' sustainability management experience, including previous experience providing sustainability advice at a senior level
• Proven experience managing the delivery of sustainability ratings on complex projects, ideally rail or major infrastructure
• A recognised qualification relevant to the role, with recent experience on projects of a similar scale and nature
• Comfortable working across client, design and delivery teams, and not afraid to speak up when it matters.
• A hands-on approach, with the energy to get sustainability outcomes over the line.
