Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a temporary assignment in Brisbane's inner-city suburbs. You will manage end-to-end payroll for a mixed workforce, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.

You will handle salaried and casual staff, review timesheets, entitlements and deductions, and respond to payroll queries while supporting reporting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for up to 200 salaried employees and 100 casual employees
• Process new starters, terminations and employee changes
• Review and process timesheets, overtime, allowances and deductions
• Calculate and process leave entitlements and payroll adjustments
• Ensure compliance with awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
• Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies
• Process superannuation contributions and payroll tax where applicable
• Maintain accurate employee records and payroll documentation
• Respond to payroll queries and provide support to employees
• Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations

The Role

Reporting to the relevant manager, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll for up to 200 salaried employees and 100 casual employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.

• Process end-to-end payroll for up to 200 salaried employees and 100 casual employees
• Process new starters, terminations and employee changes
• Review and process timesheets, overtime, allowances and deductions
• Calculate and process leave entitlements and payroll adjustments
• Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
• Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies
• Process superannuation contributions and payroll tax requirements as applicable
• Maintain accurate employee records and payroll documentation
• Respond to payroll queries and provide support to employees
• Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations

About You

• Previous experience in an end-to-end payroll position
• Experience processing payroll for both salaried and casual employees
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards and employee entitlements
• High level of accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with payroll systems such as MicrOpay, Chris21, Aurion or Employment Hero will be highly regarded
