Job summary

The Star Entertainment Group is seeking a Technology Risk & Data Governance Manager to lead enterprise-wide technology risk, cyber assurance, and data governance initiatives across Group Technology. You will liaise with risk, cyber, audit and business stakeholders to ensure risks are identified, mitigated and reported, while strengthening governance maturity.

You will shape risk-informed decision-making, enhance cyber resilience, and embed robust data governance across the organisation,

Qualifications

  • Experience in technology risk management, audit, compliance or governance.
  • Strong knowledge of technology and cyber risk frameworks, controls and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, PCI-DSS).
  • Knowledge of data governance principles including data ownership, stewardship, quality and regulatory obligations.
  • Ability to coordinate audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments and remediation activities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for senior leadership.

As our Technology Risk & Data Governance Manager, reporting to the General Manager IT Strategy, Governance & Corporate Technologies, you will support the ongoing uplift and management of technology risk, cyber assurance, compliance, audit coordination, and data governance practices across Group Technology. You will work closely with technology, risk, cyber, audit and business stakeholders to ensure risks are effectively identified, managed, monitored and reported, while strengthening governance and control maturity across the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will play a key role in driving enterprise-wide technology governance, supporting regulatory and audit engagements, overseeing technology risk and remediation activities, and embedding robust data governance practices across the Group. You will help shape risk-informed decision-making, enhance cyber resilience, improve control effectiveness, and ensure data ownership, quality, stewardship and compliance obligations are effectively managed in support of the organisation's strategic and regulatory objectives.

A few of your responsibilities

  • Strengthen technology risk culture, accountability, and control maturity across the organisation.
  • Establish and uplift data governance practices, including data ownership, data quality, data stewardship, and privacy-related controls.
  • Coordinate technology risk reporting and governance forums to provide leadership visibility of material risks and emerging themes.
  • Partner with technology, architecture, cyber, and business teams to ensure data governance requirements are embedded into technology initiatives and operational processes
What we are looking for
  • Experience in technology risk management, audit, compliance, cyber assurance, or a related governance function.
  • Strong understanding of technology and cyber risk frameworks, controls, and industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT or PCI-DSS.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, including data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata, lineage, retention and regulatory obligations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments, control testing and remediation activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse business and technology teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • A passion for building a strong risk culture and driving continuous improvement across technology, cyber and data governance practices.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Risk Management, Business or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP or similar will be highly regarded.
  • Most importantly, you will be a trusted advisor who can balance governance with pragmatism, partnering with the business to strengthen technology resilience, improve risk visibility and enhance data governance outcomes across the organisation.
