This unique role sits within the Finance, Facilities, and Technology department, leading our Business Support Services members, which plays a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency and sustainability of our organisation. The team ensures effective financial management, facilities management, and technological support to the organisation.

About the Role

The Technology and Facilities Manager is a full-time position, responsible for the secure, efficient, and cost-effective management of Lifestart’s IT infrastructure, systems, facilities, and assets to ensure operational effectiveness. This role provides strategic guidance to enhance technology solutions, oversees vendor and contract management, and ensures consistent and reliable services are delivered across all Lifestart sites.

This role is hybrid, based out of our head office in Rhodes Business Park but may require you to travel to our other offices around Sydney at times.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the Lifestart IT helpdesk and ticketing system and managing escalated, complex issues
  • Coordinate the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including mobile, desktop, and network resources
  • Act as the main point of contact for hardware, software, and vendor-related issues, ensuring efficient solutions and support
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of Lifestart’s website and SharePoint applications

Facilities Management

  • Manage the procurement of general office supplies and refurbishments
  • Oversee facilities and property management, focusing on proactive building works to ensure offices are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with lease obligations, reviewing new lease agreements where necessary
  • Oversee site management through regular site visits, inspections and audits, to ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements across all locations and thinking proactively about improvements that could be made

Team Management & Compliance

  • Provide supervision, training, and coaching to individual team members, including monitoring their individual performance-based objectives
  • Develop and manage the technology and facilities budget, monitoring expenses to ensure cost-effective use of resources and alignment with financial targets
  • Providing Insurance oversight by managing organisational insurances and claims processes

About You - Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging IT systems (including cloud-based applications), networks, and hardware management, including experience with mobile, desktop, and server infrastructure
  • Proven experience in IT systems and resource management, vendor coordination, facilities oversight, and helpdesk management
  • Familiarity with property leases and facilities safety standards
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of corporate, training, data IT and/or other projects, including the capacity to participate in organisational change initiatives
  • Experience managing incident registers and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Experience in developing, managing, and forecasting budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, support, and motivate cross-functional teams, as well as maintaining a positive team environment
  • Full working rights in Australia

  • Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 Virus (3 doses) or accepted medical exemption certificate
  • Current driver’s license and use of own car
