We have a vacancy for an Advocate, a key role within the Claims and Advocacy team responsible for the submission of DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) claims and representation at the Veterans’ Review Board (VRB), ensuring the delivery a professional service that meets the needs of all clients.

The position encompasses both strategic and operational elements and ensures the service provides the highest quality customer-centered care for veterans and their families.

You will also:

• Actively strive to exceed expectations through excellent service, consultation, and continuous improvement
• Demonstrate an empathetic and flexible approach in all actions
• Liaise with key external stakeholders, related services, and agencies associated with DVA
• Participate in projects aligned with strategic/operational plans and embrace the change process
• Take responsibility for the delivery of work outcomes associated with the preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims/appeals for compensation and entitlements from DVA & VRB.

Who are you:

• Compensation Advocate Level 3 (or working towards)
• Working knowledge of all defence entitlements under appropriate legislation and Veteran’s Review Board policies and practices
• Completion of /or willingness to complete courses relevant to the role
• Understanding of defence-related illnesses and conditions
• Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally
• Highly developed communication skills and the ability to prioritise, manage and problem solve
