Job summary

Komatsu’s Fairfield PDI team is growing, and we’re seeking experienced Fitter or Plant Technicians to join the floor. Work involves assembling, fitting options, and performance testing of brand‑new Komatsu machinery before delivery to customers.

Roster is Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3pm, about 40 hours weekly with overtime. Pay ranges from 46.61 to 54.86 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit-out new Komatsu machinery.
• Install customer-specific options and components.
• Test and check machines prior to delivery.
• Diagnose and rectify issues as needed.
• Maintain high quality and accuracy in work.

Job description

Komatsu’s Fairfield PDI team is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Fitter or Plant Technicians to join the team.

With machine builds increasing, we need more skilled tradespeople on the floor helping us get new Komatsu equipment assembled, fitted out, tested and ready to go to work.

This is Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) – but don't worry if you've never worked specifically in PDI before. If you come from mobile plant, construction equipment, agriculture or heavy commercial/truck maintenance, we'd like to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll work on a broad range of brand-new Komatsu utility, and construction equipment, completing machine assembly, fitting customer-specific options and performance testing before equipment heads out to our customers.

You'll be involved in:

• Assembly and fit-out of new Komatsu machinery.
• Installing customer-specific options and components.
• Testing and checking machines prior to delivery.
• Diagnosing and rectifying issues where required.
• Completing work to a high standard of quality and accuracy.
• Working closely with the Leading Hand and wider PDI team.
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
• Supporting apprentices and sharing your trade knowledge.
• Completing relevant job documentation and reporting.

Roster: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3pm, 40 hours per week, with O/T available and possible afternoon shift

Rate: $46.61 to $54.86 per hour – dependant on experience.
