Job summary

Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Gunnedah Service team. You’ll diagnose faults, repair and maintain customer equipment in the field, working directly with customers to keep machines performing at their best.

The role requires safety focus, ability to travel, and a valid driver licence. You’ll manage your own jobs, complete paperwork and deliver high levels of service while enjoying a weekday roster with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mobile Plant Technician or Plant Mechanic preferred.
• Experience on agricultural, construction or heavy equipment preferred.
• Willing and able to travel and stay away from home.

Komatsu is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Gunnedah Service team.

You’ll be out in the field maintaining, diagnosing and repairing customer equipment, working independently and directly with customers to keep their machines performing at their best.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs and maintenance on customer equipment.
• Testing and adjusting machine operating and monitoring systems.
• Providing quality technical support in the field.
• Assisting with larger site-based equipment maintenance projects.
• Managing your own jobs, paperwork and technical reporting.
• Working directly with customers and providing a high level of service.
• Working safely and efficiently, often with minimal supervision.

Role Located: Gunnedah, NSW

Roster: Monday to Friday – 7am to 15:06, with overtime available

Tools: $54 - $56.50 per hour dependant on experience + Tool of trade vehicle + mobile phone + laptop

What we are looking for:

Ideally, you’ll be a qualified Mobile Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic, but we’re also keen to hear from experienced Diesel Fitters and Heavy Diesel Fitters who have worked on agricultural, construction or similar heavy equipment and are interested in making the move into mobile plant.

Komatsu experience would be great, but it isn't essential; we're interested in the skills and experience you can bring with you.

You’ll also need to be:

• Safety focused and comfortable working independently.
• Confident diagnosing and solving mechanical problems.
• Comfortable working directly with customers.
• Organised and able to manage your workload in the field.
• Willing and able to travel and spend occasional periods away from home.
• Able to meet the role's driver licence requirements.
• Willing and able to successfully complete a Coal Board Medical.
