Komatsu Australia is seeking a Field Service Diesel Fitter to service, maintain and repair heavy equipment in Cairns. You will diagnose faults, analyse machine data, and deliver high-quality outcomes while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

The role offers a 5:2 roster, a 40-hour week, and a competitive annual wage with a vehicle allowance and overtime opportunities. Based in Cairns, remote site work is a key aspect of the position.

Qualifications

• Mobile plant trade certificate or equivalent.
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining equipment.
• Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
• Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously.

• Commitment to safety and ability to work in remote areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
• Provide technical support and practical solutions to customers.
• Complete detailed service reports, including fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Analyse machine data and onboard computer system downloads.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and report hazards or incidents.
• Build positive customer relationships and deliver exceptional service.
• Ensure accurate completion of timesheets and service documentation.
• Support branch operations and assist team members as required.

As a Field Service Diesel Fitter based in Cairns, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment in the field. Using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills, you'll deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for our customers while helping maximise equipment performance and availability.

Roster: 5:2 roster, 40 hour week, primarily day shifts

Annualised Wages: Competitive Salary + Tool of Trade Vehicle + Overtime + Field Service Allowance
