Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti at Tropicana Gold Mine is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join the Underground Maintenance team. Based on a FIFO roster from WA, you will perform frontline electrical work to keep mine equipment safe, reliable and compliant.

You will work on motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, and underground distribution, with on-call duties and involvement in plant shutdowns. Essential licences and experience include WA Electrical Licence and mining environment; strong

Qualifications

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential)
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience (Desirable)
• Data cabler’s license advantageous
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential)
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of WHS (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian Standards
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate – however can assist with obtaining
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP
• Senior First Aid
• Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)

• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently
• Install and maintain underground reticulation for reliable power distribution
• Conduct breakdown and maintenance work on underground drilling equipment
• Study plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to plan repairs
• Be available after hours on a rotating call-out roster

Technician Electrical Maintenance – Underground Full Time

We are seeking an Electrical Technician to join our Underground Maintenance team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide frontline support and ensure all electrical work is carried out in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible manner.

This role is based at Tropicana Gold Mine on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, with direct flights provided from Perth and Kalgoorlie to site.

About the Role

• Performing repairs, maintenance and installation activities on infrastructure such as motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMUs, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems
• Carrying out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently
• Installing and maintaining underground reticulation systems to ensure reliable power distribution
• Conducting breakdown and maintenance work on underground drilling equipment to minimise downtime
• Studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and the sequence of repairs and/or installations
• Being available after hours as part of a rotating call-out roster and responding to equipment breakdowns as required
• Assisting with equipment maintenance shutdowns and the coordination and execution of power isolations
