Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited is seeking a Mine Services Technician to join the Tropicana Gold Mine on a 6-month fixed-term FIFO contract from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie. The role supports the Dewatering and Services team, ensuring reliable and safe operations and is anchored to strict safety and operational practices.

You will install and maintain dewatering infrastructure, coordinate with contractors, and manage records while contributing to efficient water management and pump systems on

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in a related field (Fitter, Boilermaker, Mechanical, Plumber) or equivalent qualifications.
• Self-starter with commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Excellent problem-solving, people, and communication skills.
• Experience with mining dewatering and diesel pump equipment preferred.
• HDPE welding experience (butt & extrusion).
• Knowledge of SAP systems desirable.
• Basic computer and software skills.
• C Class Driver’s Licence; HR licence advantageous.
• National Police Clearance.
• Permanent work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Daily installation/removal of in-pit sump pumps for site operations.
• Pipe welding and dewatering/pump infrastructure installation/relocation.
• Maintain polyethylene pipe using butt/electrofusion welding.
• Monitor dewatering systems: dams, standpipes, diesel pumps, tanks, in-pit stations.
• Daily inspections, records, and maintenance.
• Organise consumables and manage supplies.
• Escort and monitor mining operations contractors.
• Liaise with stakeholders to optimise water flows.
• Operate ancillary equipment within mining area.
• Data entry and records maintenance.

We are now seeking an experienced Mine Services Technician to join our wider Projects and Infrastructureteam at the Tropicana Gold Mine for a 6 month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Water Management and Infrastructure Supervisor, the purpose of this role is to provide support to the multidisciplinary Dewatering and Services team to ensure reliable, efficient, and sustainable operations. The position will be offered on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

About the Role

• Daily installation and removal of in-pit sump pumps as required for site operations
• Pipe welding, and dewatering/pump infrastructure installation and relocation
• Minor maintenance to fabricate, repair, and relocate new and existing Polyethylene pipe of various sizes using butt welding and electrofusion techniques
• Monitor and maintain the dewatering systems, including but not limited to dams, standpipes, diesel pumps, tanks, and in-pit pumping stations
• Daily inspections, record keeping, and maintenance
• Organisation of consumables
• Inspection, escort, and monitoring of mining operations contractors
• Liaise with various stakeholders to optimise water flows
• Operation of ancillary equipment within the mining area
• Data entry and maintenance of relevant records

About You

• Previous experience with mining dewatering and diesel pump equipment is preferred
• HDPE welding experience (butt welding and extrusion welding)
• Knowledge of SAP systems desirable

• C Class Driver’s Licence, with an HR licence being highly advantageous
• National Police Clearance
