Job summary

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer (Level 2) to join our global IT team in Cairns, Australia. You will help maintain Microsoft 365 services, Azure Active Directory, and endpoint management while supporting international operations.

You will mentor colleagues, contribute to IT security, and assist with deployments and documentation to ensure reliable technology for mission operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 4 years' experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows environments, and endpoint management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, endpoint devices, networking and collaboration platforms.
• Investigate and resolve escalated technical issues with exceptional support.
• Support cybersecurity, identity and access management, and endpoint compliance.
• Assist with system upgrades, deployments, and global IT projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
• Work with colleagues worldwide to improve IT services.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the global support team.

Location: Office Based Role - Cairns, Australia.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing technical support across Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, endpoint devices, networking, and collaboration platforms.
• Investigating and resolving escalated technical issues while delivering an exceptional support experience.
• Supporting cybersecurity, identity and access management, and endpoint compliance.
• Assisting with system upgrades, deployments, and global IT projects.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge articles.
• Working closely with colleagues around the world to continually improve our IT services.
• Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge across the global support team.
• Helping ensure our technology remains reliable, secure, and ready to support mission operations wherever MAF serves.

You will work alongside talented colleagues across multiple countries who value collaboration, knowledge sharing, innovation, and serving one another well.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 4 years' experience in IT support or systems administration
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows environments, and endpoint management
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Strong spoken and written English

Highly Regarded

• Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, CompTIA, VMware, or ITIL certifications
• Experience supporting cloud and hybrid environments
• Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls
• Experience with Intune, MS Defender, Jira/Confluence
• PowerShell or Python scripting
• Experience supporting international, mission, or not-for-profit organisations
